About Roan Espresso
Our seasonal espresso blend is formulated to show a different side of espresso. We choose lots that are unique, bright, fruity, and sweet. This creates a wild and exciting profile.
Shakiso is a lot produced by Sookoo Coffee and it’s founder Ture Waji in Ethiopia. The cherries are dried on raised beds for around 15-20 days and moved/rotated frequently to ensure even drying. The results are pristine, clean coffees unlike many naturals, they have high florality and acid with little booziness, often described as ‘Ethiopia first, natural processing second.’
Unlike almost all other producers in Ethiopia, the Telila Washing Station lots are built based on cherries delivered on a given day. Mike and his team are meticulous with their quality control, even storing their parchment coffee in sealed bags - a first for Ethiopia that required governmental approval.
