Christmas Blend Profile
About this year's Christmas Blend components
Introducing this year's Christmas Blend by Quarter Horse Coffee! This coffee has been especially selected and sourced to be the perfect brew at this time of year! Delicious both as espresso or filter, with and without milk, have this coffee the way you like it, alongside your mince pies of course!
Gedeb Worka – Ethiopia
Despite being a new co-operative, Worka is already a respected name among roasters. It was created in 2006, after the creation of the Gedeb district, which used to be a part of Kochere. Since the split, the local government assisted the community in building Worka washing station.
Worka started selling coffee to private buyers or akrabis in the Kochere and Yirgacheffe districts. They became part of YCFCU in 2010. They are offered training from farming techniques to personal finances and can improve their production methods and save money for the offseason.
Santa Domingo Teojomulco – Mexico
This lot is made up of a whole range of smallholder farms. Unlike in many other Central American countries, Mexico is full of very small coffee producers - some producing as little as 5-10 kg per year. The limited quantities do not mean quality is low, often quite the opposite is true.
What makes Oaxaca an especially unique area of Mexico for coffee is that the internal market is also very willing to buy Oaxacan coffees. This coffee is exciting and showcases a side of Mexican coffee often unexplored and under-appreciated.
