More about the coffee, producer & region.
This coffee is of two exceptional natural lots sourced from the Perfiles co-operative in Chontali, Cajamarca. Established in 2019, this dynamic co-operative brings together 219 dedicated members from the districts of Chontalí, Pomahuaca, Sallique, and Jaen. Each member contributes to the co-operative's mission of producing high-quality, sustainable coffee, making it a beacon of excellence in the region.
About the Region
Pomahuaca, nestled in the Chontali region of Peru, is a place of unique charm and cultural richness. The community's vibrant festivals, intricate handicrafts, and age-old rituals reflect a deep connection to indigenous traditions. The locals' agricultural practices not only sustain their livelihoods but also demonstrate a profound respect for nature. Chontalí, one of the twelve districts in the province of Jaén, benefits from its location in the upper basin of the Huayllabamba River, making it ideal for agriculture. The region is known for its diverse forests and a wide variety of orchids, many of which remain largely unexplored. Jaen, a tropical forest region, enjoys a warm climate year-round. The city of Jaen, one of the hottest in the country, experiences refreshing rains, especially from December to March. The province is traversed by the Andes del Chamaya, with the Huancabamba River to the west and the Marañon River to the east, adding to its picturesque landscape. Altitude1900m - 2050m
