About our Dark Horse Espresso
Our house espresso blend changes components seasonally. Our goal is to make an espresso that is firstly a building block for a wonderful milk based espresso beverage, as well as interesting and complex on its own.
Don Claudio is produced in the surrounding hills of the Chirripó Mountain, the highest in Costa Rica, where the soil is rich, and the rainfall abundant. The ripe coffee cherries are picked and dried without removal of the fruit skin or pulp, before being milled. This takes time, but the rewards are vibrant, stone-fruit rich and floral tasting coffees.
Tolima is a coffee with exceptional brightness, balanced body and sweet, clean citrus and toasted pecan notes. Coffee from the Tolima region competes with cocoa for popularity among farmers in this remote mountainous region, where the microclimate and careful processing result in a balanced coffee with a sweet prolonged aftertaste.

Dark Horse Espresso is a Washed processed blend with the current components of 75% Costa Rica Don Claudio and 25% Colombia Tolima.
Our sourced coffees are always seasonally fresh with a consistent flavour profile with tasting notes of Milk Chocolate, Caramel, Cherry & Hazelnuts.
