More about the coffee, producer & region.
Bloom Plot is a carefully selected parcel located at the highest point of Mondul Estate in Tanzania's renowned Arusha coffee-growing region. This elevated plot consistently produces some of the estate's finest washed coffees, benefiting from cooler temperatures and ideal growing conditions at 1,800 metres above sea level. Grown from Bourbon varietals, this lot showcases the clean, balanced profile that Tanzanian coffees are celebrated for, with tasting notes of chocolate, orange peel and walnut.
About the Region
Nestled on the slopes of Mondul Mountain in the Arusha region of northern Tanzania, Bloom Plot sits at 1,800 metres above sea level. The combination of high altitude, fertile volcanic soils and favourable climate allows the cherries to mature slowly, developing greater sweetness, complexity and cup clarity. This unique terroir helps create a beautifully balanced coffee with rich chocolate notes, bright citrus character and a smooth walnut finish.
About the Process
Only fully ripe cherries are hand-picked and delivered to the wet mill within six hours of harvest. After grading and sorting, the cherries are de-pulped using a Pinhalense de-mucilage machine before soaking in fresh spring water sourced directly from Mondul Estate. The parchment is then thoroughly washed, sorted and dried on raised African beds for around seven days, with frequent turning to ensure even drying. Once the coffee reaches the ideal moisture content, it is milled, graded and hand-prepared for export. Every day's production is cupped in the estate's on-site quality laboratory to ensure exceptional consistency.
