Friction Talks return to Oxford
Our very popular writers talks are coming back to Oxford. The newly named Friction Talks will kick off on October 9th with Claire-Louise Bennett. Here is more info about the event:
9 October
Claire-Louise Bennett
6.30—7.00pm
Claire-Louise Bennett began writing, she has said, ‘in order to keep rationality and purpose at bay, to prolong and bask in the rhythmic chaos of existence, to remain adrift … and luxuriate in the magnificent mystery of everything’. Her startlingly original debut collection of short stories,Pond, won the White Review Short Story Prize in 2013. Eimear McBride, author of A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing, described Pond as ‘intelligent and funny, innovative and provocative’ and Deborah Levy believes she is ‘a major writer to be discovered and treasured.’ Come along and discover her for yourself.
